After an astonishing 80lbs weight loss and with a brand new album to promote, Jennifer Hudson certainly had a lot to discuss with the presenters of US talkshow The View. But the newly-svelte songstress was upstaged by her adorable little boy, David Jr. Co-hosts Whoppi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elizabeth Hasslebeck cooed over the 19-month-old as he sat on his mum's lap.
Clearly unphased by the cameras, he sported a baby blue puffa jacket, jeans and white trainers for his television debut and grinned through the whole interview. David - who accompanied Jennifer because "he wouldn't let me leave him" - even held the microphone and constantly hummed into it, proving quite a distraction for the presenters. And the 29-year-old was eager to speak of the love she shares for her son.
"I just learn from him, he keeps me smiling every day," she said. "I run out of space on my phone, trying to capture everything he does." She also said that his birth inspired her dramatic weight loss. Wanting to be role models for their son, Jennifer and her fiancé, lawyer-turned-wrestler David Otunga, decided to embark upon a healthier lifestyle. "I wanted to give the example from the beginning - oh, Mommy works out, Mommy eats right", she said. David Daniel, named after his father, was born in August 2009.
