It's an unconventional friendship, but controversial funnyman Russell Brand and Britain's most regal actress Dame Helen Mirren have hit it off. And their good relations were clear for all to see as they joked around on the red carpet in New York on Tuesday for the premiere of their new film, Arthur.
Helen lit up the proceedings in a cream linen Lanvin gown, featuring an ecru taffeta skirt and a grey sash cinching the waist. She accessorised her look with a white pearl and crystal bib-necklace and a grey shawl. And her monochrome look seemed to echo that of Russell's, who was looking dapper in a cream suit.
Jennifer Garner, a fellow co-star, attended the premiere in an elegant Oscar de la Renta ensemble that featured a back-to-front style cardigan and an embroidered pencil skirt.
Arthur tells the story of a party-loving playboy, played by Russell, who relies heavily on his nanny, Helen's character. But he risks losing his sizeable inheritance after falling for a tourist guide, played by Greta Gerwig, whom his family does not approve of, instead considering a fellow heiress (Jennifer) much more suitable.
