After Thursday's big announcement, Cheryl Cole has told of her joy at landing her dream job – as a judge on the US version of The X Factor."I’m so excited," said the Geordie beauty, who joins Simon Cowell, and US music producer Antonio 'LA' Reid on the panel."
"I absolutely love it here in the UK, and with the talent they have out in America, I’m sure we’re going to find someone very special." The 27-year-old – who sports new long extensions in promo shots for the new show – says she's raring to go. And she can't wait to do battle with Simon again. "I can’t wait to get started," she said. "I just can't decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me. "He's tried to beat me for three years in the UK, and hasn’t even come close. His ego must be so bruised. "America is gonna love this." Cheryl's sparring partner was the first to offer his congratulations. "I’m thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with," he said. But the record boss couldn't resist adding: "She is also a complete brat! Most importantly, this girl can spot talent."
Cheryl gets to work on Sunday, when the first auditions in front of judges are filmed in front of Judges in LA. And she's not worried her accent will make it difficult for contestants to understand her. "So far I have only ever been complimented on my accent," she told The Sun. "Americans are always really sweet about my accent and seem to find it intriguing, which I think is quite funny." Piers Morgan, who has had Cheryl on his chat show, cheekily offered his help on Twitter. "Congrats to my friend Cheryl Cole on landing US X Factor judging gig. Am available for elocution lessons whenever you like," he tweeted.
