EastEnders' favourite bad boy Jake Wood invites us into his beautiful Hertfordshire home

August 22, 2011

Although he may excel at playing the backstabbing adulterer Max on EastEnders, HELLO! quickly discovered that Jake Wood has very little in common with his character in everyday life. The actor, who lives in a converted schoolhouse with his wife Alison and children Amber and Buster, didn't hesitate to admit their differences. "We're both ginger and we both have the same voice. That's about it. Max is deeply flawed and damaged. "The 39-year-old posed with his family in their Hertfordshire home just days after celebrating his tenth anniversary with Alison, his partner of 16 years.

And while his character may be absent from the script for the time being, Jake insists he will be back on the show before too long. "I'm really happy there," he said of this part on one of Britain's most beloved programmes.

The actor added that in five years he'll, "Hopefully still [be on] EastEnders. I would like the kids to be happy and settled and for us to all be in this beautiful home. "Until his return to Albert Square, however, the father-of-two has enjoyed cooking and relaxing outdoors with his family.
