It's almost impossible to believe she's 51. Nancy Shevell, the woman – who rejuvenated Sir Paul McCartney's life after a difficult divorce – was on bombshell form at the premiere of his ballet Ocean's Kingdom. From the front, the sequinned midnight blue showstopper looked demure enough.
From behind it was a different story. With a sheer panel revealing her lithe back, the cocktail dress was positively risqué. Sir Paul's daughter Stella, the designer of the costumes, was also there to see the fruits of his first ever ballet score. It was a triumphant homecoming for Nancy, an independently wealthy business executive, who is shortly to become Lady McCartney. The glittering guest list drawn from New York's VIP arts fraternity, included Naomi Watts, Sarah Jessica Parker and Liv Tyler.
Joining the Hollywood sirens was Sex and the City writer Candace Bushnell, designer Nanette Lepore and Jon Bon Jovi. Also attending was Dylan Lauren, daughter of one-man fashion empire Ralph, who has her own thriving business – an eponymous chain of boutique candy shops.
