Running into your ex-boyfriend's new love is always going to be awkward. Luckily, Elisabetta Canalis – who was until recently George Clooney's plus one – had some back up in the form of a handsome new companion when she found herself in that tricky situation. The feisty Italian looked like she didn't have a care in the world when she crossed paths with the movie star's glamorous current squeeze Stacy Keibler at an LA soiree.
She appeared to be having a ball in the company of chiselled True Blood actor Mehcad Brooks, the man who's helping heal her broken heart. In the months since her split, Elisabetta has bravely carried on with her life, even appearing on Dancing with the Stars – the American version of Strictly Come Dancing.
She's also taken 31-year-old Mehcad home to see where she's from. Their carefree connection seems to be a contrast to her relationship with George.
Speaking to journalist Bruno Vespa, about their two-year romance, she said: "He has been special for me, and very important, just as a father would be. "Between us there was more of a father-daughter relationship. I was unable to clarify this up til now," she said.
