Former EastEnders actress Anita Dobson has become the latest celebrity twinkle toes to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing. Anita – who is most famous for her turn as Angie Watts in the hit soap- lost her place on the show when her Cha-cha-cha failed to impress judges and viewers. The TV favourite was forced to perform with replacement Brendan Cole after a foot infection kept her regular partner, Robin Windsor, on the sidelines.

The new pairing performed to the Billy Joel hit Uptown Girl, but were only able to achieve 30 points out of a potential 40 with their rookie routine. The judges didn’t hold back with their comments, with Craig Revel Horwood criticising its "lack of sharpness" and saying there was "no true dynamic to it". Despite her exit, Anita remained upbeat about her time on the floor. Praising partner Robin, she said: "He made this the most humorous, enjoyable, fun, wonderful learning experience you could ever imagine. "Thank you so much. Can I just say thank you to Brendan too, because without him I wouldn't have done this week."

Meanwhile, Robin appeared via telephone link-up to apologise to his partner. Her told her: "Anita darling, I just wanted to say you've been absolutely incredible and I'm so sorry I couldn't be there with you tonight"."It has been a pleasure to work with you. You have been one of the most enthusiastic and hard-working people I've ever, ever, ever met. I'm going to miss you dearly."
