David Hasselhoff will not be returning to Britain's Got Talent, the former Baywatch star has confirmed. David, 59, confirmed his exit following reports that he had been axed from the panel of the ITV1 show. Comedian Michael McIntyre, who was on this year's series with the US star, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell, announced his departure in September. The actor, who was criticised for not understanding the accents of some contestants, confirmed his departure by tweeting that he would be appearing in panto.
"So it's official", he said. "I'm not coming back to Britain's Got Talent. So if you want to see me live come check me out in Bristol as Hoff the Hook in Peter Pan XXX. Thanks to everyone who supported me on my Britain's Got Talent days. Nothing but fond memories of the cast and crew and thanks to Simon Cowell."
The star, who posted a message on his website this week telling his fans to put pressure on Simon to keep him, signed off: "Hoff the Hook."
It has been reported that former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue would be on the panel for the next series, while comedian David Walliams and former EastEnders star Samantha Womack have also been linked to the show.
But Dannii tweeted: "BGT headlines - all news to me. Planning to be back on UK TV soon so hold tight." Amanda sent a message to her fans on Twitter over the weekend saying she would be taking part in the next series and would be attending auditions.
