Our readers vote dazzling Duchess the most elegant woman of 2011

It's an event that's 12 months in the making - the culmination of Hello! Online's most attractive and most elegant polls draws interest from around the world and gets readers clicking in their thousands. And excitement this year was equally as high. In total the three categories – most attractive man, woman and most elegant woman - attracted nearly half a million votes. This year saw the Duchess of Cambridge debut in our most elegant poll and take the crown that Angelina Jolie had held for the past two years.

Kate led with 35.8 per cent of the votes, an impressive 15,876 clicks in total, whilst Queen Rania of Jordan followed closely behind with 32.9 per cent, nearly 14,686 clicks.It's the perfect culmination for Kate's most memorable year, which saw her marry Prince William, tour Canada and the USA and become the nation's style icon.And she topped a regal leaderboard with third place belonging to Crown Princess Mary on Denmark, whose distinguised and glamorous fashion choices always get flashbulbs popping. In the most attractive category this year's clear winner was mum-of-six Angelina Jolie, who stormed ahead with just over 40 per cent of the final vote.

Taking silver was new mum and Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai with 27 per cent of the votes, followed by newly-single Katherine Jenkins who took 9 per cent .

There was a clear victor in the most attractive man poll. Beating the nearest competition by nearly 50,000 clicks was Hugh Laurie, who secured an incredible 30 per cent of the total with 102,598 votes.It's the third year in a row that the House actor has taken the crown, making him a clear favourite with our readers.Newcomer Matt Cardle, last year's X Factor winner, came second with an impressive 16 per cent of your clicks, whilst Hollywood hunk Orlando Bloom took third place with 14 per cent.See the results in full
