Troubled actress Demi Moore is on the road to recovery following her hospital stay last week. A close friend of the star, Monster director Patty Jenkins (pictured with Demi), said: "I just saw her and she's doing great."
"I think she's doing much better than it's made out to be. Demi is awesome and so strong. "I hate when people make it a bigger drama than what is going on." Patty was speaking at the Directors Guild Awards in Hollywood, where she and her friend were nominated for the movie Five.An anthology of five short films about women coping with breast cancer, it was created in collaboration with Jennifer Aniston, Penelope Spheeris and Alicia Keys. Demi did not attend, and was thought to be recovering at home with her family. Her spokesperson said the 49-year-old was suffering from exhaustion. But details of the call which her friends placed to emergency services reveal she had "smoked something"."We need an ambulance here as soon as possible," a women caller can be heard telling the operator in the recording – which has been released to the public.
"She smoked something. It's not marijuana but it's similar to incense and she seems to be having convulsions of some sort." The woman, who was calling from Demi's LA home also says she has taken another substance and is "burning up". "She's been having some issues lately with some other stuff, so I don't know what she's been taking." There's been no official statement from the star's estranged husband Ashton Kutcher on her health scare. But sources have told People he is "deeply concerned" about the actress.
