Amanda beams with pride as she shows off baby Hollie

February 6, 2012

Surrounded by cards and flowers, Amanda Holden introduces her new arrival to the world. In the tender image, baby Hollie, who was born weighing just over six pounds, is cuddled adoringly by her sister Lexi while flanked by her mother and father, record producer Chris Hughes.

The happy family shot gives no clue to the drama that surrounded the birth. The Britain's Got Talent judge was left in a critical condition following the birth of her second child a fortnight ago, spending several days in intensive care. Hollie was born by Caesarean two weeks ago, and Amanda is thought to have needed a blood transfusion, leaving her in a critical condition for three days. The actress had recovered enough to be allowed home last week and continues to improve.

And Lexi, who had her sixth birthday just two days before her sister was born, seems to be adjusting well to a new member of the family as she looks at the baby in wonder. Amanda had been in good health throughout the pregnancy, but she has had previous difficulties. She lost a child last year, seven months into a pregnancy, and in 2010 she suffered a miscarriage.

A spokesman for the talent show announced that actress Carmen Electra would be on the panel testing out wannabe stars. He said: "Carmen Electra is our guest judge for the London auditions. Amanda is expected back for Edinburgh next Saturday."
