She was in the audience when Kimberley Walsh took on the role of Princess Fiona back in September. And there was no way that Cheryl Cole was going to miss her friend’s final night in the Shrek musical. The singer hot-footed it straight from the Cannes Film Festival to cheer on her Girls Aloud band mate as she performed on stage for the last time.

Just twenty four hours after her show-stopping appearance on the red carpet, Cheryl was back in the UK to see Kimberley in action.

She appeared to have come straight from the airport, only stopping to change her shoes and trousers. She was joined at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane by Nicola Roberts and Sarah Harding, who looked fantastic in a striking yellow polkadot dress.

The beautiful blonde certainly seems to have overcome her well-documented troubles, and looked happy and healthy as she joined her band mates backstage. Kimberley, 30, was clearly touched by the support of her friends. "Going to sleep, very thankful for all the amazing people I have in my life *smiling*," she tweeted.
