Thrice-married Ulrika Jonsson has made another trip down the aisle. The Shooting Stars panellist and her husband Brian Monet have renewed their marriage vows in a romantic Barbados beach ceremony. In an exclusive HELLO! article, Ulrika explained that the couple wanted "to do something special" after a challenging two years, in which she has suffered from a ongoing chronic back condition that has "taken me down the lonely road of depression".
"Hard times either force you apart or bring you closer together," Ulrika tells HELLO! "The stresses and pressures we have experienced over the past couple of years, I am thrilled to say, have made us stronger." Adding to Ulrika's health woes, she and Brian have also moved house twice in 18 months as they made their dream of building a family home come true. Joining the couple at the vow renewal ceremony were their son Malcolm, three, Ulrika's daughter Martha, eight, whose father is Ulrika's second husband Mark Gerrard-Wright, and daughter Bo, eleven, from her relationship with German hotel boss Markus Kempen.Ulrika's eldest son Cameron, 17, whose father is cameraman John Turnball, stayed at home to concentrate on his AS Level exams. Ulrika revealed that Brian also surprised her by getting down on one knee before the vow renewal ceremony.
The first time he proposed in 2007, Ulrika had "jumped the gun and asked if he was proposing" so he wanted to make a proper proposal again. "I am married for the third time – Brian for the second," said Ulrika. "And the feeling I get from being with Brian is inexplicable. He is so much more than just my husband. He is a jaw-droppingly brilliant father who has the same values of parenthood as I do. His patience knows no bounds; his love for our children is unconditional and their love for him completes our family entirely. "See tge full exclusive article in HELLO! Magazine, out now.
