After just two series, it's already one of the most critically acclaimed costume dramas of all time, winning a host of accolades for the cast and crew. And Downton Abbey's winning streak continued this week when two of its leading ladies were honoured at the Glamour Awards.
To her delight, Michelle Dockery (right) was presented with the Editor’s Special Award, not only for her sense of style but also for "flying the flag for Britain around the world".Her on-screen sister Jessica Findlay-Brown, meanwhile, took home the Best UK actress trophy for her appearances as Lady Sybil in the hit show.Other ladies feted at the star-studded event included pop icon Kylie Minogue, who was honoured for her Outstanding Contribution by her friend Jake Shears, singer with the Scissor Sisters.
She dedicated her award to three other special women – mum Carol, sister Dannii and her grandmother.Fellow songstress Jessie J picked up the solo artist award, while Kelly Rowland was named best TV personality.Holly Willoughby also enjoyed success as best presenter, while newcomer Lily Collins was crowned breakthrough star.
Joining their British counterparts at the ceremony were a host of US beauties including best comedy actress Sofia Vergara, entrepreneur Jessica Alba - founder of the Honest eco-friendly baby website – and Inspiration winner Eva Longoria.English actor Tom Hiddleston – star of Thor and The Avengers – was named man of the year.
