Draped in jewels and fur, and exuding timeless Hollywood glamour, Lindsay Lohan's transformation as Elizabeth Taylor is impressive. When she landed the starring role in biopic Liz and Dick – which relives the movie siren's passionate love affair with Richard Burton – Lindsay said she was "honoured".
And she is certainly putting every effort into doing the role justice, as shown by the official shots released by Lifetime network. Joining her in the small screen biopic is Grant Bowler – known in the US for roles in series like True Blood and Blue Heelers. Together, he and Lindsay are faced with the challenge of reproducing the unique chemistry of the couple whose temptuous relationship and epic fights were the stuff of legend.
As well as the actors, production staff are also working overtime to make the film a success. Costume designer, Salvador Perez, has created over 66 different looks for the biopic, which begins in 1961 ends with Richard's death in 1984. Speaking recently to US publication People, he revealed "there was an audible gasp" when Lindsay first appeared on set as the Hollywood icon. "She just walked into the clothes and became Elizabeth Taylor," he said. Some of her most famous jewels were also recreated, most notably the dazzling 33-carat Krupp diamond her 'soul mate' generously slipped on her finger.
