Very little has been seen of Tom Cruise since it was announced that his five-year marriage had come to an end. While Katie Holmes has been out and about in New York with their daughter Suri, the actor has kept a low-profile as he works on his sci-fi movie Oblivion in California. It was widely reported that the star - who celebrated his 50th birthday on July 3 – was blindsided by his wife’s decision to divorce him.
Now his lawyer has spoken out on behalf of the A-list actor, and in particular his plans to reunite with his little girl after almost a month apart. "Tom will be seeing Suri very soon, I don’t know exactly when that will be, and I couldn’t tell you, but I do know it will be very soon,” Burt Fields told RadarOnline."Tom loves Suri very, very much, as he does his other two children. Tom is a family man, and dedicated to his children. They are the centre of his world. "The Mission Impossible star – who has been speaking regularly on the phone with his youngest daughter – swiftly reached a divorce settlement with Katie.
The 33-year-old actress was given sole custody of Suri, and Tom substantial visitation rights.
But Mr Fields confirmed that his client is "still tremendously saddened and shocked about the divorce.""Tom is obviously relieved that the settlement was reached, but is still sad, obviously."
