Describing Kristen as a "sister", he played down her relationship with Rupert, who directed her in Snow White and the Huntsman.

"If one of your friends in real life was hurting, and lots of people were being cruel. Wouldn't you ask them to please stop?" he added. As he made his plea, Kristen and estranged boyfriend Robert Pattinson, whom she met on the set of Twilight four years ago, are dealing with the aftermath of the furore.
Both have now moved out of the house they shared together in Los Angeles. They now have to decide who will look after their beloved rescue dog, Bear, whom they saved from a shelter in New Orleans. With his dedicated owners now separated, reports suggest Kristen is pushing for joint custody.
