Since Heidi Klum announced her split from husband Seal, emotions have run high between the estranged pair. The father of the model's children raised eyebrows recently when he claimed she had become close to her bodyguard Martin Kristen, who has been helping the star through her separation.
Seal's representatives denied the singer was accusing Heidi of infidelity, but she told US chat show host Katie Couric the comments tainted a recent meeting between the pair. "I don't know if we're the greatest friends right now, especially because of the things that he said," she revealed in the pre-taped interview. The model went on to add that having the world watching was an added strain for her. "It's a work in progress. You have to take it one day at a time," she explained. "It's hard, especially when you are in the public eye too.
"People are always looking at you closely and at everything you do. And they also don't always see exactly how it really is. "I haven't felt like correcting every rumour that is out there. I'm focusing on moving forward." For Heidi, moving forward means balancing maternal duties to the couple's children – eight year-old Leni, whom Seal adopted, Henry, six, Johan, five, and daughter Lou, who is two – with her ever expanding business interests. The Project Runway presenter recently launched a new children's clothing range, Truly Scrumptious, at Babies R Us in New York. She also designs jewellery and has her own perfume.
