Battle of the outfits or battle of the bands? 'X Factor' heats up in the style stakes

October 22, 2012

As MK1 were eliminated in yet another deadlock this week, judges Tulisa Contostavlos and Nicole Scherzinger entered a style battle of their own on the X Factor.

After launching her own clothing line earlier on in the week, Tulisa upped the style ante as she opted for a bodycon stapless dress with a green panel and black lace detail, and completed the look with some peeptoe, black lace up heels.

Opting for a more futuristic look, former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger opted for a red flock mini skater dress, and went for a high plait and large gold earrings and a chunky gold chain to accessorise the striking dress.

Even the boys joined in - Gary Barlow looked dapper a matching black and grey checked waistcoat and jacket, and Louis Walsh brightened up the black brigade and opted for an on trend maroon poloneck underneath his black velour jacket.

On trend for Saturday night's live performance, Nicole again went for a sci-fi look for Sunday night's result show, in a bodycon mesh black dress, which was decorated with rubber panelling.

Meanwhile, Tulisa wore another strapless black number in daring shiny leather, drawing attention to her waist with a gold chained belt.

When the British singer was asked whether she was jealous of Nicole's fashion choices on The Xtra Factor, Tulisa was quick to speak out.

Responding to the live caller, the N-Dubz star said: "What we wear is the least of my priorities."

Although MK1 may not have been one of the star's own groups, Tulisa's seemed keen on them, declaring that she could see "something of N-Dubz" in the duo. She was upset when they were voted out of the competition.

Former chimmney sweeper Kye Sones was saved thanks to the public vote.

JLS, Emeli Sande and Labrinth spiced up the Sunday show as they performed live.

The pair sang ballad duet Beneath You're Beautiful, whilst JLS opted for racier performance of their latest single Hottest Girl In The World.
