George Clooney has always insisted he's not the marrying kind. So Hollywood's eternal bachelor will be relieved to hear comments made by his girlfriend Stacy Keibler, who has insisted that marriage isn't on her "radar". The Ides Of March actor has been stepping out with his long-time friend Stacy for more than a year and there have been rumours a trip down the aisle could be on the cards for the couple in the future.
But the pretty blonde told E! News she isn't thinking about settling down, explaining: "That is not on my radar at all!" The 32-year-old added: "I'm definitely the girl who doesn't talk about that kind of stuff. I'm not really interested in thinking about marriage or kids at all." Former wrestler Stacy said she is "more of a guy" in the way that she lives in the moment, rather than planning the future. George, 51, started dating Stacy last summer, not long after his split from Italian model and TV star Elisabetta Canalis. The pair went their separate ways after Elisabetta hinted during an interview that she was keen to get married and have children. "I could never be with someone who every time he opens his mouth says he doesn’t want a child with me or to marry me," the 32-year-old told weekly magazine Chi. "My boyfriend has not given an interview on his private life since 1999 – everything that you read is just a rehash of stuff that has been written in the past. "I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am, I don’t need anything to confirm how happy I am."
George, on the other hand, is not an advocate of tying the knot. He told Piers Morgan during an interview last year that that his one marriage, to actress Talia Balsam – which ended in 1993 - was enough. Piers pointed to the fact that George's father Nick, who also appeared on Piers' chat show, had been happily married to his wife Nina – the actor's mother – for 51 years. Was Nick yearning for the day he could see his son walk down the aisle? Mr Clooney senior turned to his son and said: "I want you to think about that… We've been married -- Nina and I've been married 51 years." The younger Clooney said: "I hate to blow your whole news story, but I was married, so I gave it a shot." He said that attempt "proved how good I was at it".
The actor told Esquire magazine the same year: "People forget that I was married. "His ex-wife Talia is now married to John Slattery (above). She stars alongside him on popular series Mad Men. "I love that, 'Will he get married?'," George said, in reference to constant stories that appear in the press. "I understand that it's a subject of interest for people. But sometimes it exists only because it came up years ago. It becomes this conversation piece that constantly resurfaces." He insists: "I don't talk about it because I don't think about it. I don't ever question other peoples' versions of how they live their lives or what they do."
