Tensions rise on 'I'm A Celebrity...' as challenges get dastardly Down Under

November 14, 2012

Cracks have begun to show in camp after Helen Flanagan and Nadine Dorries had to stomach a rather queasy bushtucker trial on Tuesday night's episode of I'm A Celebrity!... Faced with a series of strange foodstuffs-- such as rotten eggs and a camel's toe-- the pair flinched as they swallowed the bizarre cuisine to earn their camp a more decent meal. As Helen failed to chew the humpbacked creature's foot, Nadine took victory as she only failed to swallow a rotten egg, earning her four meals for her camp.

Confessing her disgust at the challenge, Nadine said. "I feel as sick as a dog. When I sat down and saw that massive spider with hairy legs on the plate I didn't think I was going to be able to do it. The thought went through my head, 'oh, we're not going to eat any tonight', but I thought to myself, 'yeah, you can do this'."  Although Nadine's team may have been grateful for their meal, the group were less than impressed with Made In Chelsea star Hugo Taylor's dinner talk. As he chatted with Nadine, Eric Bristow, Colin Baker and Ashley Roberts about his lavish lifestyle, he failed to charm Eric, who branded him a "daddy's boy". Relaying a story about Hugo and his friends hiring their own chef during a break in Scotland, the darts champion said to Nadine: "Did you hear about when he was on about when they went to a big house, eight of them in Scotland? I didn't say anything because I'll only lose my rag and tell him the truth. Of course he didn't pay for it. Daddy paid for it. He's a Daddy's boy. Daddy's got loads of money."

Nadine shared her distaste at Hugo's comments, admitting in the bush telegraph video diary: "I would say one of the most difficult things for me about being in the camp is having to interact with Hugo every day. But one of the things I'm proud of is that I've done it and managed to achieve that,".    Despite the camp's qualms, it was Hugo that they had to rely on in the Dingo Dollars challenge. Once again facing boxing champion David Haye, the reality star was less than impressed with his competitor. "Great. Another physical challenge and it's you. My heart sank a little bit." the 22-year-old said after learning his fate.

The challenge, named Shaping Up, was ideal for the physically astute David. Placing the appropriately shaped pegs into the climbing wall to reach the Dingo Dollars at the top, David displayed his prowess whilst Hugo floundered at ground level. Bursting into tears once more, Hugo reflected on how emotional his surroundings had made him. "I can't believe I'm crying over something so stupid. The smallest thing in here can completely set you off. It's astonishing." Now, the contestants will have more moral support after the divided camps of Croc Creek and Snake Rock were united. For some celebs, though, the decision was far from a morale booster. Boxer David was keen to lay down the law for the new arrivals. He said: "We can't get ten people round here at the moment, so where are we going to sit? Maybe we should write down our rules. This is Croc Creek and these are Croc Creek rules. We get priority with the toilet!". If the contestants are already territorial over their personal space, worse is yet to come. Unbeknown to the current celebs, two more contestants are ready to join camp at the show's discretion. Celebrity TV chef Rosemary Shrager and 80's star Limahl are set to join the action at a moment's notice.
