Amanda Holden has confessed that fellow Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams is nervous but excited about becoming a father for the first time. Amanda, who rehearsed with David for this year's Royal Variety Performance which took place on Monday night, said she had seen scans of the "good-looking" – and tall – baby. She said: "He's delighted. I think he's nervous. We saw some really cute scan pictures the other day.
"It's a gorgeous, good-looking baby. I'm sure it's going to be massively long and tall. So good luck with that, Lara." Amanda added: "He'll be an excellent dad. He's ridiculously in love with Bert, his dog, so he probably needs a human to put some love into as well. "Amanda introduced some of the acts at the Royal Variety Show, hosted by David, which was filmed at the Royal Albert Hall for broadcast on ITV1 next month. She said she was not worried about this year's X Factor ratings and the repercussions for another Simon Cowell show, Britain's Got Talent, because "we're a totally different show".David recently announced on Twitter: "Some wonderful news. My beautiful wife Lara is pregnant. We are having a baby! It is due next year and we both couldn't be happier. Dx".The couple then released a statement last week, which read: "We're very excited to announce we are expecting our first child. We're both absolutely thrilled but ask you to please respect our privacy during this precious time."
As well as being a comedian, David has his own series children's book that will come in handy once the baby arrives. He will be able to read the newborn titles such as The Boy in The Dress or Gangsta Granny, his fourth book to date.On her Twitter account model Lara already classifies herself as a mum, after the happy couple welcomed dog Bert into their lives earlier this year. She recently joked about the differences between looking after an animal and having a child: "a baby will probably never be as fun as Bert." The cute Border Terrier is often seen out on the town with them, dining in fancy restaurants or attending social events. He is also a regular on their Twitter, the couple frequently post snaps of the canine.David, who earlier this year said he has battled depression and tried to commit suicide several times, married the Dutch model two years ago at Claridge's hotel in central London. The bride, 26, wore a £30-000 fitted cream wedding dress created by Ricardo Tisci of Givenchy. She reportedly wept as she and her comedian love – dressed in a grey morning suit - exchanged vows in the ballroom of the five star hotel, which was filled with £10,000 white roses. Onlookers said that "for once David looked incredibly nervous" ahead of the ceremony. Guests at the event included Geri Halliwell, Elton John and David Furnish, Natalie Imbruglia and Noel Gallagher, who all tucked into lobster salad and seared sea bass at the reception.
