She may only be six years old but jet-setting Suri Cruise proved that distance is no object for a family holiday like Thanksgiving. The youngster flew to the UK from her home in New York to spend the special day with her dad Tom Cruise, whilst mum Katie Holmes visited her parents house.Tom is currently filming Born to Kill in London and his busy schedule has made it difficult to see his daughter since the summer. The duo spent some father-daughter time together in July at Disney World, Florida, where Suri was spotted dressed up in a mermaid costume. Action-man dad Tom also treated his youngest daughter to a helicopter ride.

For Dawson’s Creek actress Katie, this was her first Thanksgiving since splitting from Tom, whom she was married to for six years. She was seen arriving at New York's LaGuarda airport on Thursday morning alone as she headed west to spend time with her parents Kathleen and Martin.Mum-of-one Katie revealed her lawyer-father began an alternative Thanksgiving tradition - a three mile run called the ''Turkey Trot'. "Many years ago, my dad started this tradition where we all do this run in the local park" Katie said, "there's even a prize, which I haven't won yet but it's really fun. "Speaking on a US chat show 33-year-old Katie had revealed her excitement about the forthcoming festivities. "We have Thursday off" she said "so I'm going to have the chance to go home with my family." The star added that she had been "warming up" for the day's traditional feast by already having enjoyed "a little bit of turkey and stuffing and derby pie which was awesome. I thought, 'why am I starting this early' but it was amazing and I'm actually not sick of it, I'm ready for more."

Katie reportedly only has one day off from her theatrical ducites on Broadway, where she is currently starring in Dead Accounts as Lorna, the highly-strung sister of a con man whose sudden return home — with millions of dollars in hand — launches his family into a comedic, money-charged frenzy. It's back to business for Suri too as she will be returning to the US on Monday for her classes at Avenues school in Chelsea.Tom's adopted son Connor was also enjoying his day of feasting. The 17-year-old tweeted several photographs of a freshly cooked turkey and his platefuls of food with the comment "In a state not unlike that of a coma after the first round of Thanksgiving dinner." Connor, who has been making a name for himself as an actor and a DJ on the club circuit, also sent a festive message to his 14,000 followers which read: "Happy Thanksgiving guys... Eat irresponsibly, and may the odds be ever in your favor..."Connor and his 19-year-old sister Isabella were adopted by Tom during his marriage to Nicole Kidman. The pair were married for 11 years, going their separate ways in 2001, five years before Tom and Katie tied the knot in Bracciano, Italy.
