Chris Martin was spotted on Wednesday night on a rare public outing in London. The Coldplay singer attended the private view of Coldplay, Paris And Kids Company, an exhibition showcasing work from the band's Mylo Xyloto album at nightclub Proud Camden. The 35-year-old singer was snapped enjoying himself and sharing a joke with former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm during the exhibition, which was also attended by other stars such as Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley.
His wife Gwyneth Paltrow was nowhere in sight. Fiercely protective of their private life, the couple are rarely seen together at public events.Much has been made of Chris and Gwyneth's discreet approach to their love affair, including the scarcity of their public appearances together and the blonde beauty's admissions that married life isn't always "rosy". "I am a great romantic – but I also think you can be a romantic and a realist," she said last year. "Life is complicated and long and I know people that I respect and admire and look up to who have had extra-marital affairs. It's like we're flawed – we're human beings…I think we're all trying our best, but life is complicated."
Chris, who has been touring since the end of last year, has revealed that Coldplay are set to take a break for three years. The band were performing live at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia on Wednesday, November 21 when Chris told the audience: "This is the last big show for three years or so. I don't want to stop," Billboard reports. The announcement came just a few days after the band hinted at the impending release of their next record. "The next one we're releasing is much easier to pronounce," he told Australian radio station 2dayfm.Coldplay are scheduled to perform with Chris' longtime friend Jay-Z at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on December 30 and on New Year's Eve. The band also has several concerts booked in Latin America in February 2013. It was unclear if they will continue playing smaller shows after those dates.
