Guy Ritchie and fiancée Jacqui Ainsley welcome a baby girl

November 29, 2012

Guy Ritchie and his fiancée Jacqui Ainsley have welcomed a baby girl. A spokesman for the couple confirmed the happy news on Thursday morning. "We can confirm that Guy and Jacqui are the proud parents of a new baby girl. Mother and baby are doing well." The couple are said to be "utterly delighted" with the arrival of the newest addition to their family. According to The Sun, a friend of Guy and Jacqui said: "The are both utterly delighted at the birth. The fact they have a girl is an added bonus - Guy always wanted a boy and a girl."

This is the couple's second baby after welcoming their first son together, Rafael, in September last year. The Sherlock Holmes director, 44, has two more sons from his eight-year marriage to Madonna; Rocco, 12, and David Banda, seven - who they adopted from Malawi in 2006. Guy and Jacqui revealed they were expecting a second child in August, at the London premiere of The Dark Knight Rises, when Jacqui cradled her growing baby bump for the photographers. The following day, they released a short statement: "Guy Ritchie and Jacqui Ainsley are thrilled to confirm they are expecting their second child together later this year".Jacqui, 30 has always expressed her desire for a big family. "I'd love more children. Guy and I have always wanted a big family. It's something we planned all along." The couple began dating in April 2010 and moved in together at the start of 2011, with Jacqui telling Tatler magazine: "I'm living with Guy in Marylebone. I don't think there was really an official moment – no huge conversation or anything strange. We just wanted to spend time together and I was there all the time and evenings after work, so it just kind of happened." There were also clues back then to the couple's plans to start a family. "I've known since I was very little that I want to be a mummy and I want to have kids," said the part-time model, who hails from Southend, Essex.

The couple became engaged this year. They have not released any official statement but during a night out in Los Angeles, Jacqui flashed her diamond engagement ring. The 44-year-old filmmaker has previously spoken out about his marriage to Madonna, saying he "enjoyed" being married to the singer and has no regrets.  "I enjoyed my first marriage. It's definitely not something I regret. The experience was ultimately very positive. I love the kids that came out of it, and I could see no other route to take. "But you move on, don't you? You're right, I stepped into a soap opera, and I lived in it for quite a long period of my life. I'll probably be more eloquent on it ten years from now."
