The past week has been one of extreme tension for Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry, following the Canadian's doorstep fight with French actor Olivier Martinez, Halle's current fiancé. Now, reports indicate that the trio have settled on an amicable agreement bashed out by their respective lawyers.
Halle's legal rep, Blair Berk, told E! News: "The parties have reached an amicable agreement. There will be no further statement on the matter." Gabriel's lawyer, Shawn Holley, was also present for the negotiations, and both she and Blair were seen leaving the LA court house arm-in-arm, with wide smiles on their faces. There was no sign of Halle Berry or Olivier Martinez at the hearing, however Gabriel did show up, wearing sunglasses to conceal the visceral injuries he sustained during his scuffle with Olivier. It was thought that the Oscar-winning actress was set to appear before a judge and try to extend her ex's temporary restraining order to a permanent one – a move that, if successful, would have seen the model lose contact with daughter Nahla indefinitely. However, that didn't happen and Gabriel's temporary restraining order – which required him to stay 100 yards away from his child, her mother and Olivier – expired on November 29.
The 36-year-old will be hoping that he can spend time with his daughter now that that the dust has settled after the Thanksgiving altercation that broke out during a custodial handover at Halle's Los Angeles home. The fight and ensuing arrests and court appearances are related to Halle's wish to relocate their daughter Nahla to France, which is Olivier's homeland. A judge recently blocked the move. In his police testimony, Gabriel says Olivier referred to the intended move to France during their confrontation, claiming the Dark Tide star said: "You cost us $3 million (in court fees). When you see the judge, you're going to tell him you're going to Paris."
