Dad-to-be David Walliams has revealed he can't wait to meet his baby. The Little Britain funnyman announced last month that he and wife Lara Stone are expecting their first child. "I'm really looking forward to being a dad, the whole experience. I'm looking forward to seeing the baby for the first time, seeing this little person who's a mixture of you and the person you really love," he told the Daily Mirror.
He joked: "But hopefully it will look like Lara and not Simon Cowell."David also said he can't wait to return to his seat on the Britain's Got Talent judging panel alongside Simon, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon for the next series. "The most important thing is that me and Simon get engaged next series," he quipped. "I'm delighted I'm being able to enjoy these new opportunities. Britain's Got Talent gave me a whole new lease of life where people could see me as myself. "It was nice to be me rather than a character in a sketch and it seemed to work, especially my relationship with Simon, seeing him laugh. We found some really great talent too."
David's colleague Amanda recently confessed that the comedian is nervous but excited about becoming a father for the first time. Amanda said she had seen scans of the "good-looking" – and tall – baby. She said: "He's delighted. I think he's nervous. We saw some really cute scan pictures the other day. "It's a gorgeous, good-looking baby. I'm sure it's going to be massively long and tall. So good luck with that, Lara." Amanda added: "He'll be an excellent dad. He's ridiculously in love with Bert, his dog, so he probably needs a human to put some love into as well. "Forty-one-year-old David announced the happy news in November, through his Twitter account. He said: "Some wonderful news. My beautiful wife Lara is pregnant. We are having a baby! It is due next year and we both couldn't be happier. Dx" .
The couple released a statement later on revealing the news, which read: "We're very excited to announce we are expecting our first child. We're both absolutely thrilled but ask you to please respect our privacy during this precious time. "David, who earlier this year said he has battled depression and tried to commit suicide several times, married the Dutch model two years ago at Claridge's hotel in central London. The bride, 26 at the time, wore a £30-000 fitted cream wedding dress created by Ricardo Tisci of Givenchy. She reportedly wept as she and her comedian love – dressed in a grey morning suit - exchanged vows in the ballroom of the five star hotel, which was filled with £10,000 white roses. Onlookers said that "for once David looked incredibly nervous" ahead of the ceremony. Guests at the event included Geri Halliwell, Elton John and David Furnish, Natalie Imbruglia and Noel Gallagher, who all tucked into lobster salad and seared sea bass at the reception.
