They looked to be one of the most promising celebrity couples of 2013, but Harry Styles and Taylor Swift have now gone their separate ways, according to reports. The Mail writes that Taylor put an end to their fledgling one-month romance after the pair rowed during a romantic New Year holiday in the Caribbean. "Yes I can confirm they have split up," a source told the publication. "They were on holiday and had an almighty row. They are two young stars at the top of their game so who knows what will happen in the future."
Holidaying together on the British Virgin Islands should have been a chance to get to know each other better, but things didn't work out and Taylor, 23, fled home early after a mere three days with her beau. Harry, meanwhile, made the most of his time left in paradise, and was spotting posing for pictures with bikini-clad fans, soaking up the sun – and enjoying the generous hospitality of Sir Richard Branson. The Virgin boss is said to have invited the One Direction heartthrob to his private bolt hole, Necker Island. Sources confirm that 18-year-old Harry "did plenty of partying". Fans will no doubt be surprised by the development given that things seemed to be going from strength to strength for the young stars. They spent a romantic New Year's Eve in New York's Times Square, where Taylor was performing.
Their midnight kiss was snapped by a reveller and promptly shared on a Twitter account affiliated with Harry, suggesting that fans would be seeing a lot more of the loved-up pair. Sadly, however, it wasn't to be. Consolation will no doubt be found in their successful respective careers; country belle Taylor is celebrating an impressive list of Grammy nominations, including a nod for her pop anthem We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and multi-million selling album Red. Harry, meanwhile, will continue securing world domination with his group One Direction, who last year soared into an under-30s British rich list with a combined worth of £26.33 million.
