Gwyneth Paltrow reveals rare family pictures in idyllic holiday scene

January 11, 2013

Gwyneth Paltrow has avoided the dull winter months on an exotic excursion to St. Lucia with children Moses and Apple.

Sharing the family's beach antics on her lifestyle website Goop, the actress posted pictures of her children swimming in the sea, making sandcastles and cuddling up to their bikini-clad mum. Known to keep eight-year-old Apple and six-year-old Moses out of the spotlight, the snaps from the Sugar Beach resort offer a rare glimpse into the actress' family life. The caption to the photo collage reads: "We are just back from an amazing (and sadly short) holiday at Sugar Beach- a Viceroy resort in St Lucia. It was heaven." The tag to the final picture reads: "Mosey, GP and Apple, and a Melissa Odabash bikini." In reference to her son's drink, the actress quips: "and no, that's not a piña colada." Gwyneth's husband Chris Martin was presumably the man behind the lens during the casual photo shoot.

The Shakespeare In Love star posted the pictures at the bottom of her "superfoods" article, which promotes the best healthy foods in light of the detox season. Gwyneth, however, will not be taking part in any dieting fads this year. The mother-of-two said: "Happy 2013! I am not on a detox. I am not on a diet. I know, New Years cleansing and all of that. Not this year."

The star added: "So for now, I would like to continue with my pasta and cheese, but perhaps be more mindful of ingredients."

Saying goodbye to her restrictive diet, the 40-year-old has promoted the consumption of walnuts, blueberries and spinach in her daily routine, which is reccommended by her friend Dr. Frank Lipman. The announcement comes on the back of the star's second cookbook, "It's All Good", which is set to catalogue 185 coffee, alcohol, dairy, sugar, shellfish, wheat, meat and soy-free recipes.

Alongside carving out her lifestyle website, Gwyneth is famed for her philanthropical pursuits. The star has backed the Stand Up To Cancer campaign, and has spoken about the loss of her father Bruce to the disease to raise awareness. As well as backing UNICEF, Save The Children, The Prince's Trust and Every Mother Counts, the celebrity has $500,000 of sales from her Esteé Lauder perfume Pleasures Gwyneth Paltrow to breast cancer research.
