Jamie Bell and wife Evan Rachel Wood have announced the happy news that they are set to become parents. Amanda Silverman, a publicist for 25-year-old Evan, said the actress and her husband are "thrilled" to be expecting a baby later this year.The excited mum-to-be Tweeted "Remember when I said, "No baby on the way here" well I didn't know there actually was!" along with a photo of pregnancy book What To Expect When You're Expecting. Congratulations poured in for the couple prompting Evan to respond "Thanks for all your warm wishes. We are very happy. I'm gonna be a moma!"
Evan and Jamie, best known for his role as the title character in hit film Billy Elliot, tied the knot in October last year having dated on-and-off since 2005. The pair met when they starred in the music video for Green Day's single Wake Me Up When September Ends in which they played a loving couple separated when Jamie's character enlists in the US Marine Corps.But it wasn't all plain sailing for the couple and they split the following year. A source said of the time: "Evan and Jamie were really young and just getting going in their careers when they first met and they just weren't ready. Now that they are older and both excelling in their professional lives, I think they feel ready to take their relationship to the next level." During their time apart Evan found love with rocker Marilyn Manson and they became engaged in January 2010 before calling it quits in August. Newly single Evan, who was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, then rekindled her romance with Jamie.
Suspicions were raised that the couple had said 'I do' when they appeared at LAX airport wearing what looked to be matching wedding bands. The news was then confirmed by a representative for the couple said "Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell were married on October 30 in California" adding that "the bride wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera. "Evan, who recently starred in vampire series True Blood, shared her joy on her Twitter page, writing: "Words cannot describe the happiness I am feeling. Overwhelming." In another tweet, she added: "Song of the day '(today I met) the boy I'm gonna marry'."
Initially their relationship began five years after Billingham-born Jamie, now 26, appeared as the 11-year-old ballet star Billy Elliot in 2000 earning a BAFTA award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Since then he has enjoyed roles in blockbusters such as Peter Jackson's King Kong, Jumper and The Adventures Of Tintin alongside Daniel Craig and Simon Pegg.
Evan's breakout role was in 2003's gritty film Thirteen. Following that she co-starred with Kate Winslet in 2011 miniseries Mildred Pierce. Both roles earned her Golden Globe nominations.The couple, who have tattoos of each other's initials, are busy with their acting work and Evan is currently filming 10 Things I Hate About Life. But as 2013 gets underway they can look forward to the year that will see the birth of their first child.
