Despite their young ages Harry Styles and Taylor Swift proved they can be professional and mature when they both attended the NRJ Music Awards on Saturday.
The pair, who recently split up after one month of dating, played it cool on the red carpet rising above any awkwardness. The awards, held in the coastal town of Cannes in France, saw 18-year-old Harry and 23-year-old Taylor publically reunite for the first time since calling time of their brief relationship.
Taylor chose a show-stopping outfit consisting of a bejeweled golden dress, showing off her enviably slender legs and completed her look with strappy gold heels and immaculate hair and makeup.
The I Knew You Were Trouble singer wore her soft blonde locks down and sported striking black eyeliner for a dramatic effect. Despite her glamorous red-carpet look, Taylor proved true to her popstar status and changed outfits for her live performance.
An all-black ensemble was up next for Pennsylvania-born Taylor. A playsuit with lace sleeves and some knee-high boots ensured she looked sleek and stylish delivering some of her best-known tracks.
But whilst Taylor wowed with her performance it was Harry's band One Direction who walked away with an award. Joined by bandmates Niall, Louis, Liam and Zayn, Harry scooped the title of Best International Group.
The X-Factor finalists flew the flag for British musical talent, in colour-coordinated black and brown outfits, as did Emeli Sande. The Scottish singer chose a purple patterned skirt with a black top for the awards, which she also attended last year.
Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz beatz also made the journey to France as did Carly Rae Jepson and Psy, who were each honoured at the ceremony. Carly was named International Breakthrough Artist of the Year while Korean pop-sensation Psy took two awards, one for International Song of the Year and one for Best Music Video for his catchy tune Gangham Style.
