February 4, 2013

Just hours after blowing the crowds away at her half-time show at the Super Bowl, Beyonce formally announced the tour dates for her Mrs Carter tour on her website.

It kicks off in Belgrade on April 15 and includes eight shows in the UK and Ireland from April 26 to May 12.

After the European leg of the tour, the mum-of-one will take a month off before continuing stateside and finishing the 46 night tour in New York on August 3. In the royal-themed O2 tour video Beyonce proves she is every bit the queen of pop wearing a crown and an embellished regal corset. On Sunday night Beyonce silenced doubters and proved what an exceptional performer she is with an incredible show during the Super Bowl. The 31-year-old star - who received some criticism after lip syncing at Barack Obama's inauguration - belted out four of her hits before being joined by Destiny's Child band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to sing Bootylicious and Independent Woman.

She emerged onstage wearing an all black leather outfit, singing lines from her R&B hit Love on Top. She then went into her debut single Crazy In Love, bringing some feminine spirit to the Superdome as she and her background dancers did the singer's signature booty-shaking dance. Beyonce surprised the crowd as she ripped off part of her shirt and skirt to reveal a daring leather and lace outfit designed by Rubin Singer. Her confidence - and voice - grew as she worked the stage with and without her Destiny's Child band mates during her 13-minute set, which comes days after she admitted she sang to a pre-recorded track at President Barack Obama's inauguration almost two weeks ago.  Beyonce finished her set with hit song Halo and asked the crowd to put their hands toward her as she sang the slow groove on bended knee. After the show, Beyonce posted a tribute to her fellow performers:"What a proud day for AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN!!!!! Kelly, Michelle, Alicia, Jhud. You are all beautiful, talented and showed so much class! It was an honour to perform at the Super Bowl with you phenomenal ladies. Love Beyonce."

Close friend Kelly Rowland later posted a picture of Beyonce jumping into the arms of her husband Jay-Z, who had proudly watched his wife from the stands. Michelle Obama was another famous fan congratulating the star on her performance. "Watching the #SuperBowl with family and friends. @Beyonce was phenomenal! I am so proud of her! -mo," she tweeted.Kim Kardashian also took to Twitter, "OMG Beyonce killed it!!! And when Destiny's Child came out...that made my life! #Bootylicious"Justin Timberlake joined in tweeting, "Yes, B. Yes. Roasted that... #KINGBEY"Before the game, Alicia Keys performed a lounge version of the national anthem that her publicist assured was live. The Grammy-winning singer played the piano as she sang The Star Spangled Banner in a long red dress with her eyes shut. She followed Jennifer Hudson, who sang America the Beautiful with the 26-member Sandy Hook Elementary School chorus. It was an emotional performance that had some players on the sideline on the verge of tears.More than 100 million television viewers were tuned in to the NFL championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens.
