Martine McCutcheon warmly thanked friends and fans for their support yesterday after she petitioned for bankruptcy on Tuesday. "I can't begin to express my love and gratitude for such kind and encouraging messages. I'm truly so touched. I love you guys. Thank you. Xx," she tweeted. The Love Actually actress petitioned for bankruptcy under her maiden name at Kingston-Upon-Thames County Court. Bankruptcy trustees KPMG said the singer’s largest creditor was Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.

Joint trustee David Standish said, "We are now responsible for administering her estate and are in the process of establishing the individual's assets and liabilities". The news comes just months after she married her "best friend and lover" Jack McManus in a fairytale Italian ceremony. HELLO! magazine featured exclusive photographs from the big day on the shores of Italy's Lake Como in September. The 36-year-old bride chose a breathtaking, vintage-style lace wedding gown by leading bridal fashion house, Pronovias. After arriving at the ceremony in a speedboat which featured in the film Ocean's 12, Jack, 28, described how he felt when he saw his bride walk down the aisle, "To me Martine always looks amazing, but she looks so incredible, I had a tear in my eye pretty much all the way through the ceremony. "I am blessed with so many amazing memories and moments with her, but today has topped them all. I feel I'm the luckiest man in the world."

Martine admitted that she had never been happier. "We are best friends as well as lovers and totally supportive of one another," she said. "We feel that we can conquer anything the world throws at us as long as we have each other, and that's a rare thing." Martine shot to fame in the 90s when she starred in Eastenders as barmaid Tiffany Mitchell. She also had a number one single in 1999 with Perfect Moment.
