The mother of Pippa Middleton's new boyfriend Nico Jackson has spoken out about their romance. "We're very pleased," said Ulrike Jackson, 56, who is thought to have met Pippa recently. "They are happy and that is all that matters. As long as my children are happy, then I am happy. And yes, they seem very happy – so that is the perfect answer for them, isn't it?"Asked about her meeting with Pippa, 29, Ulrike added: "I have to say she is absolutely charming. But that's it, I really cannot say any more. We're all just very pleased."

Stockbroker Nico, 35, is the dashing mystery man who was spotted walking hand-in-hand with Pippa during her recent break in Mustique.
The pair were on holiday with Pippa's sister the Duchess of Cambridge and her brother-in-law the Duke of Cambridge.Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton and brother James completed the Caribbean party, meaning that Nico has now met Pippa's family – and received the royal seal of approval from William and Kate.

Members of Pippa's inner circle have also given their views on the fledgling relationship, with one friend saying: "Nico comes from a totally different background from Pippa's other boyfriends, but he can run well with the best of them.

"He is tall, good-looking and has the most amazing piercing blue eyes. He is incredibly charismatic and stands out from the crowd. He is a really good catch. Everyone is after him."

The handsome financier was brought up in a £200,000 mock-Georgian townhouse in Folkestone, Kent, by Ulrike and her husband Martyn Jackson, 64. The couple own and run a ski and sportswear shop in the area.

Following their break in Mustique, the couple flew to the Swiss ski resort of Zermatt. Chalet rental company Mountain Exposure confirmed the sighting on Twitter, posting: "Pippa Middleton wandering round Zermatt. Let's hope she's enjoying the snow!"

When not on holiday with Pippa, Nico reportedly works for the Deutsche Bank. Now, he seems to have secured a valuable asset of his own – one of the country's most eligible bachelorettes.
