Pregnant Kim Kardashian has announced she is "shifting her priorities" ahead of motherhood. While in Nigeria on a promotional tour, the normally ultra-glamorous reality TV star took part in a stripped-down photoshoot for Du Jour magazine, showing her at her most natural. In the images, taken by renowned photographer Bruce Weber, the expectant mum shows off her gently rounded tummy. Her make-up is minimal, her hair swept back and unstyled.
Kim – who, with partner Kanye West, is expecting her first child in July – was in the mood to share during the accompanying interview and opened up on a range of personal topics, such as her ongoing divorce from Kris Humphries, protecting her privacy and, of course, impending motherhood. "I just feel so blessed and excited and ready for the next phase," she said of her pregnancy, revealing that she was having an easy time, with no morning sickness, cravings or tiredness. Kim also reflected on the trappings of fame and being in the public eye, and said that music mogul Kanye is helping her to cope with celebrity. "When you live your life so publicly, like on a reality show, people assume that they know every side of you already. But they always want more," she said. "My boyfriend has taught me a lot about privacy. I'm ready to be a little less open about some things, like my relationships. I'm realising everyone doesn't need to know everything. I'm shifting my priorities." Kim's ongoing battle to cut ties with Kris is on the top of her to-do list. The 32-year-old filed for divorce in October 2011, after just 72 days of marriage, but remains legally bound because Kris, 28, wants an annulment based on fraud, rather than a divorce. A court date has been set for 6 May.
Kim told Du Jour: "Going through a divorce for anybody is devastating and heartbreaking, and then to have to do it and feel like you have to explain what is happening is such an awkward thing. "Meanwhile, Kim recently came out in defence of her sister Khloé after rumours she had been fired from her presenting job on US X Factor, which she fronts alongside former Saved by the Bell actor Mario Lopez.Protective Kim swiftly set the record straight, telling TMZ: "A lot of people say a lot of incorrect things."
