When Victoria Beckham hopped on the Eurostar from London to support footballer David's glittering debut with his new side Paris Saint-Germain, she wasn't the only one who braved the bitterly cold and snowy conditions to cheer on a player from the sidelines. Blonde bombshell Helena Seger was also at the Parc des Princes stadium to spur on her husband, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 31, on Sunday.
The two leading ladies will be seeing much more of each other now that their husbands are team mates. And they are destined to become friends after watching David help set up a goal in the last 15 minutes of the game which Zlatan scored against rival team Marseille, securing a 2-0 victory. Helena, 42, is a former model and actress and is "known as the Victoria Beckham of Paris", according to a French source. The tall, slim beauty, who recently posed for Swedish Elle magazine and regularly appears on the glossy pages of magazines in France, is also a multimillionaire businesswoman in her own right. Fashionably forward and fearsomely clever, she will have lots in common with signer-turned-designer Victoria, who launched her eponymous fashion label in 2009 and has successfully balanced her career and family life while living in LA for five years, before recently relocating to London. A source said: "Helena is a shrewd and powerful woman who is a real force in Paris. She is refined, elegant and classy," adding that she "got where she is today through the sheer force of her ambition."
The businesswoman also speaks English – key to making good friends – and has two children with Zlatan – Maximilian, seven, and Vincent, five. Other leading ladies that make up the epitome of Parisian chic are Jeremy Menez's girlfriend, French TV star Emilie NefNaf, Argentine player Javier Pastore's wife Chiara Picone, 22, and Ezequiel Lavezzi's model girlfriend Yanina Screpante, 27. An exclusive set, the footballer's loved ones keep their private lives largely out of camera shot. Like Victoria, mum-of-one Emilie, gorgeous Sicilian TV presenter Chiara and Argentine model Yanina often shop in the quaint boutiques of the French capital's fashionable district.
They also frequent the luxury five-star hotel which has become David Beckham's Parisian base, Le Bristol and have occasionally been spotted having lunch at the star-studded L'Avenue restaurant just steps from the Champs-Elysees. Maybe next time Victoria will join them, as the high-end eatery is just a stone's throw from where Mrs Beckham resides with her husband David and their four children Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, ten, Cruz, seven, and 17-month-old Harper on their stays in Paris.
