The award-winning hitmaker expressed her delight at her younger sister's news on Twitter, where she that she was "so excited and happy for my sister, congrats @jamielynnspears - love you."
Jamie Lynn Spears will be in seventh heaven as she is now set to commit to the other Jamie in her life. Tweeting her followers, the Zoey 101 star revealed that she would be tying the knot with her boyfriend of three years, Jamie Watson. "Guess what?" titillated the singer as she posted a picture of her and her happy beau to the social networking site, showing off her brand new sparkler.
The impressive diamond number from her 30-year-old fiancé went down a treat with the country singer, who posted an impressive close-up of the jewel. "He did good!" said the approving singer.
Unfortunately for the Hit Me Baby One More Time singer Britney, however, her love life has been fraught as of late. The 31-year-old has severed ties with fiancé and agent Jason Trawick, ending their four-year relationship and two-year engagement. Credited as the relationship that saved Britney when she was struggling with the pressures of her career, the news came as a sad shock for fans. "Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I will always adore him and we will remain great friends," said the singer in an official statement. 41-year-old Jason also spoke highly of the singer and her family about the split. "As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever." Enjoying the single life, Britney was spotted sunning it up in Santa Barbara this weekend as she spent time with her boys Sean and Jayden.
As well as enjoying some special family moments with her family, Britney has also swapped her blonde locks for some chic brunette waves. The star showcased her new look at Elton John's AIDS foundation Academy Awards party, wearing an elegant sequinned plunging maxi dress to complement the update to her look.
Quitting the US version of the X Factor, the singer has plans to concentrate on her music career during the forthcoming year. Younger sister Jamie-Lynn also has a four-year-old daughter, Maddie, from her relationship with former fiancé Casey Aldrige.
