EastEnders stars Shona McGarty and Matt Lapinskas have decided to call time on their 18-month relationship. Officially announcing that she and the Dancing On Ice finalist had parted ways, Shona, 21, announced the news of the split on Twitter, and was quick to put rumours of Matt and dancing partner Brianne Delcourt's suspected relationship at rest."Thanks for the support guys! Yes it's true me and Matt have split but it has nothing to do with Brianne. Clear head and new beginnings. Mwah!" tweeted the actress. Celebrating her new singledom, the star enjoyed a night on the town with her girlfriends in Café De Paris in London with her EastEnders co-stars Jaqueline Jossa and Hetti Bywater.
"Big night! So happy with life at the moment!" exclaimed the star, who wore a polka dot peplum dress to the celebration. It seems that a new chapter has indeed opened for the soap star, who also announced some more happy news on the Twittersphere. "Ahhhh! Just found out my sister is having a baby boy! Wooooo!" said the actress. Fellow EastEnders star Matt is also enjoying his fair share of success. Due to take part in the Dancing On Ice final, the superstar skater will go head to head against Olympians Luke Campbell and Beth Tweddle. Gearing up for the final, skate partner Brianne also took to Twitter to clarify that her relationship with Matt was strictly professional. "Matty Lapinskas and and I have become best friends....END OF!!!!!! He's been my little angel throughout some tough times this year! Leave us be!" said the performer.
With Dancing On Ice's romantic record, it comes as no surprise that speculations of on and off the rink couples are rife. Coronation Street's Samia Ghadie embarked on a relationship with her French partner Sylvian Longchambon this series, whilst Brianne also had a fling with 'Corrie' star Danny Young during the show’s 2010 tour. Olympic mentors and skate champions Torvil and Dean also revealed in a shock announcement that they had dabbled in having a romantic relationship, despite denying any that they were a couple throughout the breath of their career.
