After a turbulent 16 months since their break up, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are now looking at the prospect of a costly divorce. According to reports the two have been unable to resolve their issues themselves and are finally taking their divorce to court. Demi and Ashton are now said to be headed for a £190 million divorce battle after continuing to disagree about how they should split their considerable wealth.
According to US Weekly, Ashton – who earns $700,000 (£440,000) for his role on the hit show Two And A Half Men – is yet to be satisfied with an offer on how assets should be shared, a decision that will now be settled legally. Demi, 50 and Ashton, 35, ended their six-year relationship in 2011, but are still married and while Ashton filed for divorce in LA last December, Demi's failure to respond meant proceedings couldn't go ahead. The couple called time on their relationship having been married since September 2005 and appearing to have one of the most blissfully happy unions in Hollywood, despite a 15-year age gap.
When the marriage broke down, 50-year-old actress Demi said she'd taken the decision to separate from her husband with "great sadness and a heavy heart". "As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life" she said.
Demi also made a plea for people to respect her privacy during what will be a trying time for her and her family. Since the separation Ashton has moved on with actress Mila Kunis, whom he has known for 14 years since they starred in The 70's Show together, while Demi remains single.
