Mum-to-be and proud wife Rochelle Humes could barely contain her excitement as it was announced that her JLS star husband Marvin Humes will soon be a regular on the airwaves as he joins Capital FM to host a live weekly show. The Saturdays singer, who is expecting their baby in May, tweeted, "So excited for my hubby. Joining the Capital FM team. His first show tonight. Then he will be bringing on the weekend every Friday #boom"
The dad-to-be, who tied the knot with Rochelle in July 2012, will present a show featuring hit-music and club tracks every Friday night from 7-10pm. The news went down well with JLS fans on Twitter who made sure that the hashtag #MarvinOnCapital started trending. "My DJ-ing is going incredibly well and having my own Friday night show on the UK's number one hit music station is the icing on the cake," said the singer. 'It's an absolute honour to become part of the Capital family, the JLS boys and I have always had a close relationship with the team and it only felt right to grab this opportunity with both hands." His first Friday show will air on 29 March after a special introductory warmer show on 28 March. The 28-year-old popstar, who has secretly been in training for his new role for the past two months, has DJ'd at some of the biggest clubs in the UK. He also flew to New York to play at the city's fashion week and will perform sets in Ibiza this summer.
While Marvin's schedule might be jam-packed, Rochelle is settling into a slower pace as she awaits the arrival of their first baby. She played her last Saturdays show before going on maternity leave on 23 March at London's G.A.Y nightclub. It was a week full of celebrations for the mum-to-be who turned 24 on 21 March and celebrated her band's first ever UK number one single on 24 March with What About Us. After a hectic week, Rochelle tweeted about adjusting to her more relaxed schedule. "I get that I need to rest but, this is SO not me. I hate doing nothing. Gonna be long few weeks #maternityleave. Miss my Sats." Marvin is best known for his time in boy band JLS who shot to stardom on The X Factor in 2008. He began dating former S Club Juniors member Rochelle in early 2010. The boyband star proposed to his then girlfriend while on holiday in Antigua. He popped the question with a £45,500 heart-shaped ring from London jewellers Boodles.
