Tom Cruise tells HELLO! how much he loves London

April 5, 2013

Promotional duties for Tom Cruise's film Oblivion are taking him to the four corners of the globe, but London is the city which holds a special place in his heart. Speaking at the latest premiere in the British capital Tom told HELLO!, "I love London. You know I've spent so much time here, I've just finished filming All You Need Is Kill and got to land a helicopter in Trafalgar Square. Oh my god it was so much fun!". The actor was based in London while he shot the sci-fi thriller and even had visits from his daughter Suri while they were living on opposite sides of the Atlantic.

On Thursday he was in the capital again to present Oblivion to UK audiences. His co-star Olga Kurylenko looked stunning by his side in a cascading ivory Marchesa dress and delicate jewellery by de Beers. The Ukrainian actress wore her hair in pretty twists which had been pulled up into a ponytail. The brunette had nothing but praise for her leading man, with whom she has clearly established a rapport. "Working with him is amazing," she told HELLO!. "He's so professional, full of energy. He works so hard, and you want to follow him and learn." Olga is no stranger to A-list actors. She was the sultry Bond girl who starred opposite Daniel Craig in the 2008 film Quantum of Solace. When asked how Tom compared to Daniel, Olga responded: "I can't compare the two, they are so different!".

Tom was equally flattering about his leading lady, saying she brought "an elegance and a humanity" to her part in Oblivion.

"That character, Olga really brought a quality that we needed in that role. She lands on planet earth in this ancient space craft and she's a mysterious character but has to have an elegance and a humanity – you know, she carries the humanity of the story. "She has to have a quiet strength, almost, because she's seeing what's happened to the planet. And Olga has that quality."
