Sarah Harding put any thought of her impending appearance in court behind her on Thursday as she enjoyed a night out in London. The Girls Aloud singer stepped out a week after her brush with the law in a stylish black dress at the My Beautiful Ball fundraiser.

Sarah , 31, was arrested for using her mobile phone while driving and failing to stop for the police. The Girls Aloud singer was pulled over on Thursday after police spotted her using her phone while driving on Charing Cross Road in London. It is also believed that she did not immediately stop for police when they signaled at her to stop.

Ascot-born Sarah, who has enjoyed a highly successful career with Girls Aloud for over 10 years, was then taken to Holborn Police Station and is now due to appear at Highbury Corner magistrates' court on 16 April.

Denise Van Outen, Katie Piper and Tamara Ecclestone also attended the Landmark Hotel for the charity event and auction.

Simon Cowell and two of his ex-girlfriends, Sinitta and Mezhgan Hussainy, also joined the party.

Sarah's incident comes just after Girls Aloud ended their reunion tour and announced that their time as a girl group was over. The quintet revealed they are going their separate ways on the last night of their 10-year-celebration tour.

At the beginning of the month Sarah confirmed that her former band mate Cheryl Cole is moving to America. Sarah said Cheryl is heading Stateside with her boyfriend Tre Holloway in a bid to try and crack the US. "I'm going to miss her," Sarah said. "But I'm probably going to go out there at some point this year so hopefully we'll catch up then. Tre is lovely."
