Kim Kardashian's husband Kris Humphries believes that his estranged wife is doing an interview with Ryan Seacrest in order to limit the damage that their high-profile divorce trial will cause, according to reports. Ryan Seacrest With The Kardashians: An E! News Presentation will air on 21 April. The TV special falls two weeks before Kim,  who is expecting rapper Kanye West's baby in July, is due to appear before a judge over her short-lived marriage to basketball star Kris. The special no-holds-barred programme with close family friend Ryan will explore the series' most controversial and talked about moments. It promises "candid conversations" and "surprising revelations" which Kris reportedly believes will portray Kim in a good light before their divorce trial on 6 May.

During the trial, Kris's lawyers reportedly plan to force Kim to admit that some scenes from her Keeping Up With The Kardashians show were staged to make him look bad during the trial.

Producers and television executives are listed among the witnesses. Producer Jay Russell has already admitted that at least two scenes were "scripted, reshot or edited" to portray the basketball star in a negative light. One particular scene that will be analysed is when 32-year-old Kim tells her manager and mum Kris Jenner that she wanted a divorce after 72 days of being married while on a trip to Dubai.

It was later revealed that the scene was shot in an LA studio after Kim had  filed for divorce.

Kris, 28, is seeking an annulment of their marriage, claiming it was based on fraud. His previous lawyer reportedly quit because he did not think there was enough evidence to back the claim. Members of the Humphries family have openly slammed his short-lived marriage to the fashion designer as a "sham".The middle Kardashian sister wants a judge to enter a divorce judgment instead and has denied accusations that she married Kris for the sake of her reality show.

If the marriage is annulled, this would mean the couple's pre-nuptial agreement is no longer legitimate, giving the basketball player free rein to spill the beans on their relationship and shame his ex.

While Kim's failed marriage takes centrestage, it is being reported that she is planning to give birth in Paris in order to avoid the limelight. The reality TV star and her beau checked out maternity wards in the French capital while on a recent visit. The alleged main reason for LA-based Kim having her baby there is because of the country's strict anti-paparazzi laws.

By giving birth in Paris, the couple are unlikely to have paparazzi swarming around them and their newborn. Pregnant Kim, whose family life is televised on hit TV series Keeping Up With The Kardashians, recently spoke about life in moving away from the spotlight.

"My boyfriend has taught me a lot about privacy," the 32-year-old said. "I'm ready to be a little less open about some things, like my relationships.

"I'm realising everyone doesn't need to know everything. I'm shifting my priorities." Kim also reflected on the trappings of fame and being in the public eye, and said that music mogul Kanye, 35, is helping her to cope with celebrity . "When you live your life so publicly, like on a reality show, people assume that they know every side of you already," she said. "But they always want more." The parents-to-be clearly have a soft spot for the chic capital and have been spotted here on numerous occasions. Rapper Kanye is temporarily based there while he records a new album. They were last seen together in Paris at the beginning of April when Kim visited her partner and they were seen shopping for baby clothes together.

Kim isn't the first celebrity who is lured by the romantic city's tight paparazzi laws. Halle Berry, who is engaged to Frenchman Olivier Martinez, lost a custody battle to move with her daughter Nahla to France in December 2012. "It's the appeal of privacy and a greater sense of safety for Nahla," the former Bond girl said in an interview. "Because we are followed all the time, she is starting to feel like she is somehow special, and of course she is, but I want her to understand that she's special because of who she is, not because she was born into this celebrity blender."
