Michael Bublé defends friend Reese Witherspoon following her arrest

Michael Bublé has spoken out to defend his friend Reese Witherspoon following her arrest last month for disorderly conduct. "Getting to know her, she's a kind, humble, down-to-earth, real girl that I adore," the singer said in an interview with ET Canada. "Everyone makes mistakes. It's just a matter of, really, how you come back from them. "Michael and Reese recently worked together on his latest album, To Be Loved, when they recorded Frank and Nancy Sinatra's track Something Stupid.

Referring to the Oscar-winner's apologetic statement in response to the incident, Michael added, "I thought that she just showed graciousness and class and great dignity. "I hope that when I make mistakes that I come back the same way," he added. "I'm sure she wishes she could go back, but the truth is… She's got a beautiful family and beautiful kids and I think that's what most important for her. "Reese, 37, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on 19 April, after she allegedly disobeyed instructions from the arresting officer to remain in her car while her husband Jim Toth was given a field sobriety test.According to the arrest report, the actress asked the officer, "Do you know who I am?", and was also quoted as saying, "You're about to find out who I am," and "You're about to be on national news".Shortly afterwards, she released a statement saying she was "deeply embarrassed" about the things she said. "It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior."Michael, meanwhile, is looking forward to becoming a first-time father soon, when his wife Luisana Lopilato welcomes their baby boy. "I just know, right now, that I pray he's healthy and that my wife is healthy," he said recently. "I'm just going to try to be a good dad like my dad was, and like his dad was. If he turns out to be a great, macho hockey player, or a gay ballet dancer, I'll be just as happy as long as my kid is happy. "The Canadian singer, 37, also revealed that he and Luisana are struggling to find a name they both agree on. "I think it's a good, healthy battle," he said. "We both want something that the kid is proud of when he's in his teens, and at the same time, that is special. "We're just trying to go back and forth and sometimes I just mess with her because she likes certain Spanish names. Now, I'm just messing with her, and saying that I want to call the kid 'Thor'."
