Shakira, 36, has revealed how she almost passed up the chance to judge on hit US talent show, The Voice. Baring her soul during an interview with chat show host Jay Leno, the Waka Waka singer said she didn't want to leave her footballer boyfriend Gerard Pique, 26, with whom she has a son, Milan.
"When I first got the call I wasn't sure I was going to do it because they told me I would have to move to Los Angeles for six months," she said. "I knew that if I moved to LA, I wouldn't find a boyfriend waiting for me when I got back. "I've been searching for happiness for so long and I'm finally happy with this man so I said, 'forget it, love is the most important thing in my life right now.' "
The Latina goes on to add that network bosses found a way to work around her home commitments and that she's now "glad" she is taking part in the show alongside fellow judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Usher. Shakira jets back and forth between LA and Barcelona, where Gerard plays in the Spanish league. She and her partner were recently reunited at a basketball game where they looked very much in love. The couple's son Milan, three months, has also been on the set of The Voice and he cut a cute figure as he sat on his mum's lap and pressed the famous red button that decides young hopefuls' fate.
At a party for the show this week, Shakira said she is still working on getting her pre-baby body back. "I look decent. I still have a long way to go. I still have a few pounds over to lose," she told reporters.
