Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards surprised her boyfriend Zayn Malik, who is one fifth of pop sensations One Direction, by giving him a colourful manicure while he slept. The singer then shared evidence of the prank with three mililion fans who follow her band on Twitter. Perrie's cheeky snap shows Zayn napping on the couch with a fedora hat covering his face. His girlfriend can be seen lifting his hand to reveal a colourful and immaculate manicure that wouldn't look out of place on Perrie herself.

The image was posted with a caption that read, "The perks of your boyfriend not waking up through anything. Pretty LM nails Zayn." Zayn's manicure features nail designs which come from Perrie's collaboration with Elegant Touch. The singer, whose alternative style inspired Dame Helen Mirren to dye her hair pink at this year's BAFTAs, teamed up with the beauty brand to create her own range of ready-to-wear nail wraps. Speaking recently of her foray into designing Perrie said, "I am so clumsy with fiddly things so these press-on nails and wraps are perfect for me as they are so easy to use.

"I couldn't believe it when I saw how easy they were to use. In terms of design, I really love rock chick & hippy looks. "I chose lots of glitter for girly cosmic nails whereas my wraps are dark and edgy, perfect for channelling your inner rock chick!" The young couple spent time together during a quick break form One Direction's Take Me Home world tour. Zayn and his bandmates – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan – have been thrilling their global army of female fans as they take hits like What Makes You Beautiful on the road.
