Ivor Novello Awards: Lily Cooper and Geri Halliwell take to the red carpet

May 16, 2013

Lily Cooper, Geri Halliwell and more of music's most famous faces have arrived at the Ivor Novello Awards. Making an appearance on the red carpet, Lily looked bewitching in a matching brown dress and cape as she entered The Grosvenor House Hotel. Wearing a pair of leather embossed shoes and carrying a matching clutch bag, the Smile singer looked the pinnacle of sophistication for Thursday's events. Spice Girl Geri Halliwell also opted for an all-black outfit with an on-trend paisley print dress and beamed from ear to ear as she greeted the crowd of fans waiting for the biggest names in music.

Following a busy night at HELLO!'s 25th anniversary party, Beverly Knight stepped out once again to attend the prestigious music ceremony. Wowing the crowds in an orange leather dress with slicked back hair, the Shoulda Woulda Coulda hitmaker carried off the edgy look to perfection. Of course, the ceremony wouldn't be complete without appearances from the biggest chart toppers of 2013. Plan B, Alt-J, Katy B and Lianne La Havas have made their way onto the line-up.

Honouring the best songwriters of the year, the artists will battle it out for the Best Song Musically and Lyrically, Best Contemporary Song and the Best Album award. "Being up for an Ivor Novello is major – because these awards really value music. Unlike something like the Brit Awards, which are more about popularity," nominee Lianne La Havas explained to The Telegraph. Olympic favourite Emeli Sandé will also enter the musical battle with her chart-topping single Next To Me.

Winner of the Best Female Solo Artist and Best Album Of The Year Award at the Brits 2013, the singer has celebrated success after success with her debut album Our Version Of Events. Plan B is also a hot favourite to pick up an award. Transferring his skillset to the film industry, film score Ill Manors and his synonymously titled single are both up for gongs.
