Beyoncé is pregnant with her second child. Multiple sources have confirmed the news after one of the worst-kept secrets in showbusiness. The singer already has a 15-month-old daughter Blue Ivy with husband Jay-Z. The news was confirmed to E! news, after a week of speculation during which Beyoncé cancelled her Mrs. Carter Show performance in Antwerp, Belgium, citing "dehydration and exhaustion".
There had been further clues that Beyoncé was expecting when she wore a tight-fitting sparkly blue catsuit on stage in London, which showed hints of a small baby bump. The Givenchy gown that she wore to the Met Gala days earlier was said to be designed with a high waist to conceal her pregnancy. Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons also let the cat out of the bag with a tweet that read "Congratulations Jay-Z and Beyoncé..."While Beyoncé refused to comment on rumours at the time, she has made no secret of her desire to expand her family, saying that Blue Ivy “needs some company”. “I just adore being a mother, hearing her say ‘Mama’ and call me when she needs something,” she has said. “It makes me feel like I have a real purpose here. I enjoy all the things people warned me would be tough to handle.” When asked if she was referring to changing nappies, the Single Ladies singer replied, “Yes, even that!”. Beyoncé is in the midst of her Mrs. Carter tour and has shows scheduled in Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Denmark and the USA. The tour ends on 5 August in Brooklyn, New York.
