They say a picture speaks a thousand words — and Miley Cyrus seems to be letting a photograph do all the talking amid reports her romance with Liam Hemsworth is over for good. In a move that seems intended to contradict new split rumours, the pop star posted a picture of herself wearing a wedding dress on Twitter this week.

Miley is seen smiling in the snap which was taken on the same day as her new music video shoot. While it seems likely that the dress is a costume, Miley's decision to post that particular image, with no explanatory message, suggests she is attempting to shut down reports her relationship is over.A few days ago, US Weekly reported that Miley's fiancé Liam has officially called off their engagement and ended the romance. According to the magazine, Miley confessed to a friend "we're done" when speaking about the Hunger Games actor.

The Australian star, 23, and Miley are said to be still living together at their shared LA home, but are sleeping in separate rooms after Liam told her they were over.

It's the latest twist in what has proven to be a very dramatic engagement for the couple, who haven't been photographed together in months. Since the start of the year, they have consistently been the subject of split rumours, and in February their romance hit the rocks when Miley reportedly became jealous of Liam's friendship with January Jones.

His brothers are also said to have expressed their concern, with both Thor star Chris Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth allegedly urging their younger sibling to end things with Miley because they thought their on-off relationship had become unhealthy.Liam and Miley first met on the set of their film The Last Song in 2009. He popped the question with a 3.5 carat Neil Lane engagement ring last June.
