Fans of Sofia Vergara can now get up close and personal with the Colombian sensation as not one, but two, waxwork figures have been unveiled of her at the Madame Tussauds museum in New York.
She joins a host of other high-profile stars already immortalised at the popular wax house, including Madonna, Oprah and heartthrobs One Direction. Known for her playful and bubbly persona on Modern Family, the brunette star attended the big reveal of her waxworks and laughed her way through the event. She was clearly thrilled with the results and showed her enthusiasm in a series of tweets. "Gracias Madame Tussauds for my two girls!!! So honored!!" and "What a fun day!" she posted, alongside photos of herself posing playfully next to the figures in a bright blue bodycon dress.
The first waxwork recreates Sofia's night at the Met Gala last year when she wore a silver-embroidered Marchesa gown with a pleated tulled bodice. The figure will most likely remain at the Big Apple branch. The second shows off the Colombian beauty's trademark curves and cascading locks, and was taken from Modern Family's promotional photographs that saw Sofia wearing a figure-hugging black leopard print dress. It will most likely be transferred to the Las Vegas museum for West-side fans to admire.
The waxworks took four months to complete and precise measurements were taken to ensure they matched Sofia's exact style, eye colour, posture and signature hair. According to the iconic wax house, the brunette beauty was an "enthusiastic participant" in the process and has become "one of the most recognised and popular talents in the world".
The night before the unveiling, she attended the 2013 CDFA Fashion Awards in New York where she once again showed off her amazing figure in a plunging, green gown and accessorised with striking emerald jewellery. She tweeted throughout the ceremony, saying, "Loved my Herve L Leroux dress" and "Rocking it tonight with @ofirajewelz @lorraineschwartz."
